Felt magnet letters...

I saw a lovely idea on Pinterest recently (I am a Pinterest-a-holic!!) and thought I would make some for my little boy who is currently learning his letters and numbers (at 2.5 years... is that odd or normal??)..

So far I have cut all the letters out and have stitched (by hand) the first 3... I love using felt, its so easy to cut and shape, you can do almost anything with it..

Attempting a quilt!!!

I have tried quilting before, small quilts, car seat blankets etc... I stitch everything by hand (I don't own a modern sewing machine, they hate me!! lol) so it can be hard doing larger things, and I did attempt a large quilt for my daughter a few years ago, which ended in a mess and my very lovely friend Emily had to come to the rescue and fix it for me... Oops... So this is the first large one I going to make all by my self!!! I am doing it in smaller panels and then stitching them all together.. I now have the from finished, and I am waiting for more wadding and backing fabric to be delivered.. The hard bit is putting all the layers together and doing the quilting part.. I find quilting by hand on large pieces very hard, and my hands end up really sore with lots of holes...

This is one of the 6 panels

This is the full front panel finished.....

Everything is Horses!

Its my little girls birthday soon, and when I asked her what she wanted for her birthday she told me that all she wanted was her own bedroom, without all of us in there sharing with her... We are having a new extension built with 2 new bedrooms, one for me and my husband and one for my little boy... Well I am planning to secretly move out all of our things and redecorate her room on her birthday its self (while she is at school) and for it to be a big surprise for her when she gets home!!! GULP... 60 minute make over springs to mind!! lol..... Ok it will be more like 6 hour make over, but still a short amount of time to paint and move furniture in...

She wants a horse theme, so over the last few weeks I have been busy sewing lots of horsey bit to go into the new room...

Buzzzzzzzz.....

This embroidery I finished this evening.. It took me about 15 hours to complete.. I love bright colours and pale pastel colours, so wanted to mix the two and create a piece I can hang on the wall in my craft room..  I love bees, flowers and birds (they always pop up in pictures I create!! lol)

This is A2 in size and is backed with felt, so I am going to get it framed rather that put on loops for a wall hanging. I think it needs to be behind glass to protect it any way...

I will be putting up some tutorials soon on how to create fabric embroideries by hand.. (yes I hand stitch EVERYTHING!!!!)

4 Seasons....

The four embroideries below I finished last week.. I wanted to use up all my favourite scraps of fabric and make 4 framed pictures I can put in my new hall way when our extension is finished. xx

New Fabric Embroideries

I have not posted for a while now, but as part of my new years resolutions I do intend to post blogs more often... I have been a bit busy over Christmas with lots of new sewing projects, creating new bits to go on the walls of an extension we are currently building....

This one below is nearly 2m in length and is currently hanging in my living room... I love flowers and colours and like to show changing "days" or "seasons" in most of my work.. This one I have tried to show day turning to night...

I love to doodle new ideas and shapes and patterns too.. Below are some of the doodles I used to create this embroidery...
