Maisy Bear

Meet the newest addition to my bear collection... Maisy Bear. I seem to have developed a thing for making bears.... It is fun and easy to do, and gives me something to do in the evening while watching TV... I call it Sofa crafting...

All my bears are hand stitched, no sewing machine used at any stage. I do have a sewing machine, but just never seem to use it, I find it easier hand sewing... My husband actually was the last person to use it!!!! He needed to fix a hole in his boat cover, and I told him he had to do it... He got on ok, after about 2 hours of trying to work out how to thread it, he didn't want my help apparently, as it looked real easy to use, and it is if you have sewing machine experience and know how to thread on!!!

Bessie Bear

Finally got to finish this bear.  I am going to send it to my sick aunt in the uk. She is currently in hospital fighting cancer, so hoping it will cheer her up a bit.

One day soon I will put up a tutorial on how to make the bears... I love making them and Bessie is my 3rd so far... Bertie I made a few years back for my mum and then I made the second for my nieces 1st birthday last year... Cant remember what I called that bear though!!!

I NEED MORE TIME!!!!!

Please please please can someone invent something that gives us all more time in the day.... I really could do with a few extra hours each day... Even if it would cost £1 per extra hour! I would subscribe to 3 extra hours a day for the next year..:O)

I have a few projects on the go at the moment and no spare hours to finish them. I am being kept very busy by a hungry, noisy 3 month old.. But if I had to choose between finishing the projects and snuggling him, I would pick him every time!!! Love Love Love my new baby boy!!!  I have been gathering a few ideas for projects that I want to start when he gets a bit bigger and I manage to locate a few spare hours.

The ones below I am itching to finish, and I am sure one day I will.

These patches below I started while in hospital for 8 weeks before having Finn, I had to find something to do during the day, being stuck on a ward with no telly....

One day soon it they will be turned into a super large quilt for our queen size bed.. I have worked out I will need to sew about 750 altogether and have so far only managed 300 or so... I have not counted recently.. They are very time consuming to make though.  Made from 2 separate square patches with 4oz wading in the middle...

My second creation I really must finish soon is below. A teddy based on the teddy I made last year for my mums birthday (Berti Bear)... This one is for my Aunt who is currently in hospital battling cancer, she has been in for 3 nearly 4 weeks now after having 2 major ops, and is slowly recovering now, but still very ill.  I want to send her a bear to cheer her up.

Beautiful paper bag...

My daughter got given and snakes and ladders game today from a friend, which was a lovely gift, but as an arty crafter with an eye for catching patterns I was more amazed by the paper bag the game came in......

A lot can happen in one year!!!!

Wow I can't believe its been one year since my last post!!!! A lot has happened in that time, moved house again.... and had a new baby boy 12 weeks ago, while spending 8 weeks in hospital before hand due to complications.

But all is well now and getting back a normal life of making, making, making!!! I have a new business too, which is doing really well.  Its called "This Little Piggy" and I make personalised baby foot print embroideries, which I made for both my children and wanted to share with others too as they are so special and capture all the special things about having a new baby.

Its been so good getting back on here and seeing what everyone else is up to, I have missed my creative little pals.

I am working on a personal project too for my bed, which I started while in hospital and I am currently only half way through!!! I need 750 patches altogether and so far only managed to sew 350!!! Gonna take me a while... No pics of it yet as its all in bags ready to be put together. Other than that I have not really completed any other projects, been very busy with children.
